Famous Artists

Mr. Watson, AHS art teacher extraordinaire , has compiled a list of famous paintings. Paintings HERE. View all the pictures, then choose a painting by the artist that you will recreate in Illustrator. (Choose something that is not complicated! Don't choose a detailed piece.) Artist Paul Klee has some great paintings that you might like to replicate. Google Image Paul Klee and see the many choices.

Google the title of your chosen artwork and the artist. Read about that particular work of art.

If your heart is set on a different piece of art, you may ask permission and may be allowed to replicate that artwork

Would you like to learn more about some famous artists? Visit http://library.thinkquest.org/J001159/famart.htm to research an artist.

How to?

Create a new letter sized document in Illustrator. Color model CMYK.

Copy and paste the painting of your choice to the art board and place it on the left or top of the art board. Recreate the painting on the right or bottom using the drawing tools and color swatches. The pencil tool with no fill and a black stroke works great!

Explore the the filters and effects available in Illustrator to make your artwork look even better.

Place the "Name of the Artist" and the "Title of the Piece" under your newly created artwork. Type your name under your artwork.

Note: You can not trace the piece of art, you must draw it yourself.
