Procedure:
- Mini-lesson: Placing, Tracing, and Live Painting in Illustrator with Mrs. Wehrman
Design a concert poster you must include the following elements:
Create a concert poster for your favorite band (or a made up band) in the style of Uncle Charlie.
- Your poster must include the following information (you can look up this information and base your poster on an actual tour date, or you may use your own creativity):
- Name of the band and the name of the tour
- Name of opening act
- Name and address of venue
- Date of concert
- Your poster must include the following graphic detail:
- Typography that is easy to read and sets the mood and tone of the concert/band and is in the style of Uncle Charlie.
- Typography colors that compliment each other (on opposite sides of the color wheel). Go to Kuler to see a color wheel.
- Graphic is “friendly” with the typographic style.
- Filters, Tracing and Painting that change the original look of the graphic.
- Poster Specifications:
- Poster is created in Illustrator, graphic may be filtered or resized in Photoshop and Placed in Illustrator
- Size is 8.5 X 11
- May be vertical or horizontal
- Text and graphics are simple and fill the space
